Singing plays a vital role it all classroom Music lessons from Prep - Year 6 but children at St Josephs’ also have the opportunity to participate in one of three school choirs – Junior Choir (Year 2), Middle Melodies (Years 3 and 4) and Senior Choir (Years 5 and 6). All three choirs are non-auditioned allowing any student at St Joseph’s with a passion for singing to experience the joy of singing and working together as part of an ensemble. Each Choir rehearses one morning per week before school.
There are numerous opportunities for our Choirs to perform at both school and community events throughout the year. The Senior Choir plays an integral role at whole school liturgies and masses by leading our school community in song. All three Choirs perform at school events such as Grandparents Day and the St Joseph’s Festival. St joseph’s Choirs also perform at the annual Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival.
